The wife and I were planning on travelling up to Halfpenny Green Airport (EGBO) from Glos Airport (EGBJ) to celebrate my birthday and our Silver Wedding Anniversary. The weather looked within my capability and when I rang for PPR at Halfpenny Green, the cloud base was around 2000ft. By the time we got to just north of Worcester the cloud base and visibility had deteriorated significantly so after being with Halfpenny Green Information for about 10 minutes, we cancelled our PPR and returned back to Gloucester. We ended up flying into cloud for only a few seconds but I would like to think the IR(R) training kicked in - even though I've still only done half of it.
