Hi, today we're playing Magicite. This game is a indie rogue-like for the pc and any progress that you make is an illusion upon death. This game doesn't really like to teach you anything so I have to resort to looking up crafting recipes to make sure that I actually make any form of progress. On top of the oblivion of knowledge, the enemies can kill you pretty quickly if you let them as you start with a very tiny amount of HP to clear floors. Magicite is cuter than what the game dishes out in pain but it's got some really cool mechanics deep down that make it a pretty neat experience. Today, we just dive in and hope for survival. We kind of learn it...

Magicite's main influences were Monster Hunter and Spelunky. I loved the resource collection and crafting in Monster Hunter, and of course fighting giant monsters with my friends. Spelunky's brutal yet rewarding platforming was also something that I wanted to capture with Magicite.
