I can’t put Ghosts of Tabor down, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. My reception to this game was lukewarm when I first played. Now that I’m fully enveloped in the raid, customize, gear up, and repeat gameplay loop, I’m hooked. My only real complaint is that there isn’t more ways to customize guns in this game, each rail can only hold one attachment, and adding more rails to your rails doesn’t change that. Tabor is very much still in early access, but there’s a solid reason that the game won VR game of the year: it does things in VR that work perfectly. The need to maintain your bunker, physically refill your gear, craft bullets and load your mags, and other small things would be a tedious waste of time in traditional games. In VR, it feels rewarding and enjoyable. I look forward to see where the developers take Tabor in the future.
