Normally I ignore "awareness" events because, well it seems like everyday/month has some crazy thing going on and it's just so hard to remember it all. But Movember is different...
It's to raise money and awareness on the below: (it's working too because I looked it up)
Prostate cancer.
Testicular cancer.
Poor mental health.
Physical inactivity.
Cancer, no matter where it starts is scary shizz. Where movember hits me most personal is the last two. MY family has some batshit crazy members (is that even Politically Correct to say?). A father with PTSD, Brother with Bi-Polar, Crazy reclusive dog person aunt, and me a gamer... Which leads to the last bullet point...
Physical inactivity. Face it, us gamers are pretty innert while playing those marathon sessions, with a bag of chips well within reach and a bedpan for those damn games that don't have a pause feature... We're on that couch moving fingers and not much else. But we love it. Well Movember is our month, Gamer Month.
Let's get up and be active. If you never ran, set your goal for 1 mile this month. Set a "get active" time each day. Let's break the barriers and get our cardio on.
