I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm doing it anyway
74Hi my name is Arn
and I'm an independent game developer
who's been working on my own game
called Yours Truly for 3 years now.
it's my dream to own a successful indie studio
That creates games that resonate with people.
And I would like to think that I'm the kind of person
who's able to realize my dreams.
but even if I'm not, I'd still like to try.
And to be honest with you, I don't really know what I'm doing
Other than to sit in my desk coding like a nerd that I am.
But in order to realize my dream
I have to get over my fear and show the world what I created.
Even though I'm not sure if it's any good.
I'm scared to show the world a piece of myself
And have it be criticized, and maybe even ridiculed.
And for my friends to look at me and think
"Oh not another wanna be influencer"
maybe that's why only some of them like my stuff
then again no body owes me that.
Maybe it's why marketing and social media is lost to me
not only that but now I'm the mercy of the algorithm,
likes, views, shares, wishlists, and whatever else
we tie our values to in the digital age...
With all the "How to get more views"
tutorials advicing me to niche down.
to simplify myself into one single thing, for others to consume.
which makes it difficult
with me racking my brain
about what's the best content to post?
whats the most poralizing thing to say?
I mean
Who even am I to say anything?
I'm not credible
I'm just a random guy on the internet.
But this random guy has dreams just like you
And my intention is not to just complain or vent
but to show the side of myself that is relatable.
That if you don't know anything, that's okay.
And with all the things I have to contend with
to achieve my dreams
My first reaction, and what I concluded is
is to be genuine.
That's all I have to offer at the moment.
