I just got my first ever Mageblood! I still haven't actually used it, but I thought I'd talk about my experience with farming cards and make a few suggestions for anyone looking to do the same.

How I got here: In Sanctum League, I ended up getting an Apothecary by random chance, and another by farming for it for a few days before being done with the league. In Crucible I decided to see if I could gamble the two I had on Standard up to a full set. If I didn't, I would try to farm a set in Crucible. I lost one this way before stopping. I then went full MF enraged strongbox farming in Crucible and wound up with 3 cards before being done with the league, that put me at 4/5. In Ancestor League I took more of a bossing focus (see my previous videos!) and didn't want to dedicate more time in the league to farming any cards, so I went to finish out the last card in Standard using my old character from Crucible (plus some legacy gear from past leagues).
