UPDATE: I figured out (or at least got lucky with) my issue. Turns out the PS4 doesn't seem to like bare drives. My *new* HDD may not have been initialized, but it certainly wasn't formatted (obviously). I acquired an adapter, hooked it up to my PC and formatted it to FAT, which seemed to work.


I've been trying to upgrade my HDD in my PS4. However, even though i have done everything right for upgrading, i keep getting unexplainable errors! If you have any USEFUL info, it would be appreciated. Here is some tips to help avoid idiotic comments:

YES. Comments have shown that it works with PS4's.

Yes i have searched the internet, no nothing was helpful.

Yes i tried a 3 different USB sticks, 3 different update files and no none of that worked.

Yes my USB stick is formatted completely to FAT32.

Yes i tried both USB slots.

Yes i tried calling Sony, they don't even know what the error codes mean.

Yes my HDD is installed correctly - i mean honestly you have to be moronically incompetent to screw that up.
