After spending hours trying to build the perfect "build" in BG3, creating a spreadsheet and learning about different spells, ultimately I found it had nothing to do with how well I did solo. I learned this lesson the hard way when attempting a solo run in BG3. I died a lot, had little success and found a lot of simple fights, impossible.

I found positioning and planning for the fight ahead of you had WAY more to do with what you needed to do than what race/class combo you had. Playing to your classes strengths and utilizing distance, cover and the environment to your advantage played a bigger role than anything else.
