I Lost My Final Fantasy 7 Remake Saves Out Of Nowhere - Has This Happen To Anyone Else?

Okay' so for whatever reason I lost one of my saves in Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the PC version.

I can't tell if the update had anything to do with this random loss in my save but I find it really annoying because I worked really hard to push through the base game so I could reach chapter 17 to fight the super boss in the simulation system but now I have to almost start over but thankfully I had some back up saves just in case but it still stings a little because so much progress is gone.

I even turned off auto-updated on the first day I installed the game because I didn't want any updates after that last update ruining the Kingdom Hearts randomizer mod file so I turned it off for this game but when I came back to play it, the Epic game store still updated the game even though I specifically said not to update the game but I had to in order to play the game again which is so stupid. Why give us the option to turn off auto-update if you going to force it anyway?
