I Over-Engineered an AI Drone
61Code optimization, cleanup and refactoring might be the most important parts of the development process. Adding new features to a badly coded base is plain wrong. Unless you want to introduce a tone of bugs to your code, cleanup and refactor first, optimize second and only then can you start coding new features.
I demonstrate all of this in this video where I focus on some major optimization moving our game to the next level! Good refactoring can be very satisfying so if badly written code is making you uncomfortable, this video will scratch your itch.
Today I focus on increasing the yield of our crops, optimize the layout of the pumpkins and fix many bugs in the sunflowers part of the code which was dormant for a while. These changes are essential for moving forward which we can now do! Let's go ahead and depart on this coding adventure together! This is a wonderful insight into a programmer's mind!
