I put a Raspberry PI in this Keyboard: Whole House Remote Part 1
I used to have a universal remote for all my devices. But now everything is coming with a remote control: the air conditioner, strings of lights, computers, these battery-powered fans my wife and I bought for summer camping. I'd need a half dozen universal remotes to control all these things. And all the IR blasters and home automation systems suck. They want me to use my phone which I hate and don't want to have control over my house. Or they want me to pay a subscription. I'd rather do the six remote thing than either of those. It's time to make my own universal remote that is truly universal, that can control as many devices as I want whenever I want it to, however I want it to. And step one is to put a raspberry PI into a keyboard, because this remote needs two things for sure: keys and a brain...okay three things. It needs power, too, but that's for part 2. Okay 4 things. It also needs an IR transmitter/receiver. Is that 5 things?
Sorry this video was so long. The project itself took like 20 hours before I even sat down to edit. This video was supposed to be done yesterday, and so was our band's album, so yeah, this is what you get when I'm supposed to be only spending one day a week on full-length videos and it takes 3 days to make one anyway. Also sorry for the lack of English captions by me. Maybe when the album is done I'll fix the captions to be what I actually said instead of "foreign...[music]"
