I TALK ABOUT PIKMIN FOR A LONG TIME -- Let's Play Pikmin 4 Pt.TERMINUS
The red sunset is burning
Showing itself from the blue ocean
When the yellow colored star is born
From the purple colored dawn
A white day...
Is about to start
Aren't the different kinds of personalities beautiful?

Now that I've finished the game, I was finally able to watch dear fellow YouTuber PhantomBane's review of it! He had many similar opinions to me and a swath of differing ones, but aren't the different kinds of personalities beautiful? Here's his review:

Lastly, just because I was a little disappointed about how jumbled it came out in the end review portion, watching it back: The thought pipeline of Olimar's "capitalism V colonialism" story to Shepherd's "the walls that divide us are actually quite thin" story tied into the whole "different perspectives" element is tied together with the following throughline:
- Ollie's little capitalism narrative is about what happens when families are kept apart by avarice
- The Pikmin's little colonialism narrative hints at the destructive force of trying to assimilate people just because they " " "clearly need your help." " "
- Shepherd's little unity narrative takes a happier spin, showing that people are happier in harmony than out for conquest, and is an ode to a world where we are all too grateful for the good things in life to possibly have any hatred for one another
- These are all their different perspectives, but the throughline in all of them is THAT their problems would be lessened if more people accepted that there can be other perspectives, because that's the only way you can have compassion for others--you won't ever agree with anyone on absolutely every matter. And to top it all off, all of this is taking place on OUR planet which we rendered inhospitable, presumably because we couldn't accept each other's perspectives. Still thinking of perspectives, though, here come all of these castaways from different backgrounds who all seem to find the planet beautiful or in some way attractive and are more than happy sharing it with each other, unlike we were. I feel like Pikmin doesn't always answer all the questions it raises, but they are questions that mean a lot to me and I will always be grateful to it for that and to you for sharing it with me. ^w^
