I Was Right!!! || Barbie Pet Rescue - Part 2
0We finally found out what animal was leaving all those clues behind and I was right! If you don't know what I'm talking about, go back and watch the first video. Like many of the games on this channel this wasn't a very long one. I decided to not try and get every variant of every pet in this video, but I'm debating about making a third part to see if maybe I can do it. Let me know what you guys think!
For those of you that are having trouble running the game on newer systems here are some steps that you can take to get it working. I'm running this game on a 64-bit Windows 10 Pro. Not sure if these steps will work with Windows 11, but they should work for older systems assuming you have the correct hardware to run the game:
1. Install the game. If windows blocks you from installing it, you can try running the installation step with admin permissions (that is assuming you are the admin of your machine). To run with admin permissions, SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK on the .exe setup/installation file within the files of the CD itself. Then select "Run as administrator". Complete the installation steps, but make sure to install the game files in this location: "C:\Program Files (x86)". This is the location for all 32-bit software.
2. Once the game is installed, navigate to where you installed the game files, for example my game files were installed at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mattel Interactive\Barbie(R)\Barbie(R) Pet Rescue" on my computer.
3. RIGHT CLICK on the file "PR.exe". This is the game file. In the menu that pops-up click on "Properties".
4. A new window will pop-up and in the window click on the tab that says "Compatibility". Here we are going to change some settings:
Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:". In the dropdown menu just below that checkbox select the option for "Windows 98 / Windows Me"
Check the box that says "Reduce color mode" and in the dropdown just below the checkbox select "8-bit (256) color"
Make sure that "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" is unchecked.
Check the box that says "Disable fullscreen optimizations"
Check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator"
Make sure that "Register this program for restart" is unchecked.
Now click on the button "OK" at the button of the window to save your changes.
5. With all of your settings changed you should be good to play your game. Either double LEFT CLICK on the file "PR.exe" or the shortcut on your desktop if you chose to install it in order to start your game.
