Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Longplay - 044 - Trials of the Luremaster - Caverns Walkthrough
In this video, we'll descent deep into long forgotten caverns, that are inhabited by Jackals (some kind of lycantrophes without lycantrophy) as well as demon summoning mages. With other words, another dungeon that makes no sense here…
Anyway, to finally be able to leave Castle Maluradek and return to Lonelywood, we have to find five flawed gems, transform them into five flawless gems and put them in the right spot at a portal which will lead us out as soon as we've placed all of the gems. Sounds easier than it is, because there are a lot of strong foes in our way.
Icewind Dale was originally developed by Black Isle Studios and published by Bioware in 2000. 2014 Overhaul Games made an enhanced version of the original game, as they already did for Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn before. It was published by Beamdog (which is the - I guess - holding company of Overhaul Games).
I play this game with a few little tweaks from the mod "The Tweaks Anthology" from The Gibberlings, an infinity engine games modding community. I installed the "Higher HP on Level Up - Maximum HP" which grants me a maximum hit dice roll on every level up, the "Increase Jewelry and Gem Stacks" on a maximum of 80 gems (or jewelry) on a stack and the "Friendly Random Drop" with the Choose your drop option, which allows me to choose which item I get for almost all random drops within the game. Unfortunately, I forgot to also install the "Reveal City Maps" tweak, which is also very convenient.
I set the difficulty setting on insane to get a bit more of a challenge and to level up faster. My party is not a "power gamer"-party, even though I consider myself to mostly do power game runs of the infinity engine games. I rather include different races and classes to show as much of the game as possible in one playthrough.
