Testing different bitrates.

I started the stream at 3000kbps @ 60fps 720p.
But then I noticed that the YouTube bandwidth health icon was red, so I turned it down to 2500kbps @ 60fps 720p.

The CPU encoding can be set to normal at 2500kbps 720p @ 60fps, if it's set any higher then the CPU struggles. On this stream the CPU encoding was set to very fast. If I stream at 360p @ 60fps then I can set the encoding to slowest and use a 2000kbps bitrate which gives a decent smooth image, but, the webcam and flyer picture suffers from the low resolution.

My streaming PC is:

Asus p6x58d-e
I7 920 @ 4Ghz (I've just bought a cheap Xeon x3660 CPU off eBay which should help with encoding)
6gb Mushkin Redline (I have another 6gb which I'll install when the Xeon CPU arrives)
GTX480 (Underclocked because it's a space heater!)
Seasonic x-650 PSU
Asus Xonar D2X soundcard
Blackmagic Intensity Pro capture card
WD 2TB Hard drive
128gb SSD (needs installing)

This was my old gaming PC and I have to say it does a great job with streaming!
With the 6 core/12 thread Xeon chip it should perform a bit better with encoding. If I can overclock the Xeon CPU to about 4ghz it should allow a better image quality at the same 2500kbps bitrate. If I can get the bitrate down to 2000 then that would be great as not everyone has fast internet.
