'Project D' Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Home Setup
I've been asked a few times how do I play ID8 at home, so here's a short video of my ID8 setup.
The whole loom was made from scratch with help from my friend Chris. With his help I was able to get the game working completely, even down to using the old style V.R buttons as directions for navigating the menus.

The cabling needs to be tidied up a bit more as I want this to be totally portable and easy to set up. I also need to find an enclosure for the PSU's and I/O boards and I need to upgrade the 24v card reader PSU to the correct one.
For powering the card reader I'm currently using a Corsel LCA75S-24 (3.2 amps) PSU which is normally used on the sound amplifier. The correct PSU is a Corsel LCA100S-24 (4.3 Amps).
The LCA75S-24 PSU works but it's not ideal for long term use, I've already had a PSU blow up and I don't want to damage the card reader by using the incorrect PSU!
The monitor is bungee corded to the cabinet, not ideal but it is secure. Chris has given me a mounting bracket which I'll fit soon.
I do have an Initial D dash (From Initial D v1) with the larger wheel and 270 degrees rotation, but it's currently in storage at the moment so I'm just using the standard Sega Rally 2 dash until I start restoring/rebuilding the ID v1 cabinet.
I'm very happy with this setup and I'm really enjoying the game whenever I get a chance to play it. :-)
Thanks for watching!
