If Driver: You are The Wheelman Had a Remake | Gameplay Concept
Have you ever wondered what Driver: You are the Wheelman would've looked like if it was ever remade? Well, during the times I was playing Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition, I noticed that the San Diego level had an empty parking garage, and for a time I had been wanting to use that area while driving a 1970 Poniac GTO to recreate the (unfairly difficult)training mission from the first game in the series. I know the training level is the bane of every gamer's existence, but for me? I kinda like(and hate) the level. mostly because it's the parking garage scene from the 1978 movie: The Driver in video game form. The reason being is because given that one of the main draws of the Driver series is how the games makes you feel like you're in a 1970s car chase film(or at the very least, watching one), most of the missions in those games are often recreations of each famous scene(mostly the chases) from each of the movies of the from that decade...with a few differences. If anything, the Driver franchise could often considered to basically be unofficial video game adaptation of those movies. But I always imagined the Midnight Club series doing a similar thing where the games pretend to be 70s despite taking place in the modern day, pulling the focus away from illegal street racing in place of a plot where you take the role of a getaway driver carrying out missions while avoiding police.
