As we grow older, the cartilage in our ears undergoes structural changes. It does not grow in the same way bone tissue does, but it continues to change shape and loses elasticity over time. Additionally, gravity plays a role in making ears appear larger as the skin and cartilage sag slightly with age. This process is gradual, leading to a subtle increase in ear length, particularly in the earlobes, which can elongate over decades.
