Before you begin the lobby, have everyone set their emulator speed to 20% (you can use the numberpad plus+ and minus- keys to change speed). This same trick is used for one of the mario party games so I thought It might work here for Kart 7. My friend Jiin lives in Korea so even though he has insane internet, our ping is just a tad too high that the lobbies will always time-out and fail. By setting our emulators to 20% speed we guarantee that the lobby actually loads and starts. Once Jiin was in to the lobby settings (set your 50cc 100cc etc), we knew we were good and set our emulators back to 100%. Because we both have very good internet, even with the ping of ~200ms Mario Kart 7 is extremely playable. Sorry I am so bad I was on the phone the entire race. Shhh don't tell Jiin! lmao
