The iHeartRadio Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, California. Taylor Swift, who led the nominations with nine nods, emerges as the night’s top winner with six awards. She further extends her record as the artist with the most wins in iHeartRadio Music Awards history, now counting 25 prizes. Olivia Rodrigo takes home the Pop Album of the Year with Guts, Drake is awarded Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, and OneRepublic secures the Best Duo/Group of the Year. In newly-introduced K-Pop categories, NewJeans and FIFTY FIFTY emerge as winners. Miley Cyrus’ hit single “Flowers” secures Pop Song of the Year. SZA dominates the R&B categories, taking home three awards, including R&B Album of the Year. Metallica, Boygenius, Metro Boomin, JungKook, NewJeans, Peso Pluma, Gracie Abrams, Shakira, and V are among the winners. Cher was honored with the Icon Award for her unparalleled contribution to music history and pop culture. Beyoncé received the Innovator Award.
During the show, several artists entertained the crowd with their memorable performances. Justin Timberlake kicked off the ceremony with “Selfish” and “No Angels,” both from his new album “Everything I Thought It Was.” Green Day performed “Bobby Sox” and “Basket Case.” The iconic 1990s trio TLC sang their timeless hit “No Scrubs” and were joined on stage by Latto. Jennifer Hudson #iheartradio #iheartawards #SZA #IceSpice and Icon Award-winner Cher joined forces on stage, while Tate McRae performed her recent hits “greedy” and “exes.” Country stars Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson sang “Save Me.” Finally, Ludacris and T-Pain closed out the performances with a medley of rap classics: “Yeah!”, “All I Do Is Win,” and “Move Bitch.”
