Illusion of Gaia (SNES) Playthrough Part 35 - WTF AM I SUPPOSE TO DO??? (For 8 minutes...)
[illusion of gaia]
Dragoon:
Alright before any conclusion is jumped to, I have resolved the problem, I kept this recording to show quite possibly the most moronically developed part of the game (Yes, even more annoying than the 21 days drifting off at sea). This %^(%#&ing problem took 8 minutes to solve, I sped it up to 2x the speed to decrease it to only 4 minutes; I was REALLY tempted to go to look up an FAQ for the solution, but for one thing the problem was WAY TOO BASIC and after 3 minutes IT GOT REAL PERSONAL. The problem is simple and I recall where exactly Will was to be going, which is the Great Wall of China; the thing was, you need to proceed the story in order to gain access to the place. Again it was laid out pretty direct, Lance and Lilly are missing after having their 'chat', being that this is an RPG, what would the most logical approaches be? Perhaps:
1.) Talk to townspeople and maybe they would direct you to the Great Wall of China.
- Nope I spoke with every damn person and they all said the same crap they said the day Will's group first arrived. The first town, South Cape suffered from this pathetic laziness as well.
2.) Perhaps Will's friends saw where they went.
- Nope, in fact only Kara takes notice to that they are missing, Neil and Erik on the other hand are as ignorant as the stupid people in this town.
3.) Perhaps they are hiding in some corner in town to collect their thoughts on the 'chat'.
- Nope I looked everywhere, and the game developers chose the worst people to go hiding if it was the case since Lilly can transform into a small floating flower.
4.) Perhaps one of them went back to the Angel Village guest room to collect their thoughts (like No. 3)
- Nope, complete waste of time.
5.) Perhaps Lance depressed over the 'chat' decided to drink his sorrows away.
- The gambling hall unfortunately IS a place where people drink, but the imbecile wasn't there, and nor was Lilly.
6.) Maybe Will was expected to stand somewhere beside the table in the house his friends have taken refuge in.
- Nope, nothing.
... (The List of Possibilities Goes On)
THE ACTUAL SOLUTION (I'm not even joking...)
- You have to open Will's Inventory to locate an object THAT HAD BEEN PUT THERE WITHOUT ANY INDICATION, which was a letter that ($#*$U&*%ing bastard...) Lance left you before he went to the Great Wall of China alone.
#&$x**@^+ing brillant, this is the LAST THING I would ever think to do and if I didn't have the habit of continually equipping Will with something other than herbs, it could've went for more than 10 minutes to solve. The Game Developers at this point were probably DRINKING themselves, holy crap, the stupidest story progression ever. I'm not mistaken, I double checked, Will made NO INDICATION he felt he had ANY EXTRA INVENTORY in the morning. I literally exploded when I suddenly opened my inventory, and then AGAIN after reading it.
Watermia has got to be the most poorly developed part of this game.
Will:
I'm going to shove Lance's letter down his idiotic throat; FRIEND OR NOT!! Grrrrr...
