I guess I'm too stupid enough to know what gaming is or what I should expect. Obviously there are people who are 'teachers' and teach 'the right way' so that dumbasses like myself, can finally learn and lower our standards to make people happy. If I cared how graphics looked I would take the $1000+ I'm spending on next gen console hardware and invest it in a PC, further more I would make a video every week discussing my disgust for how a game looks on a platform. Everyone shares their vision for how next gen will be. And they're going to compare their vision with the actual vision that is presented to them. It may not always end up pleasing them, but it will allow them to change and adapt their vision to whatever comes next. If the companies who are making these consoles say they want this generation to last another decade, then ofcourse my standards will be placed pretty high. With a decade of the same hardware with off-the-shelf PC parts I guess I expect these consoles to hit 1080p @ 60fps no problem (which they should).

Graphics should never be the focal point on creating a game nor reviewing it. But when graphics are gorgeous we often express our gratitude and appreciation for the time the developers took in order to make a pretty game. But when we expect and WANT a game to look pretty, we are outcasted as the 'graphics whores' or the video game world.

I'm not that. I appreciate and WANT games to look pretty but in no way does that prevent me from playing a game I want to play. And that will never stop me, not now and not ever.
