Impossible Creatures is a PC RTS (real-time strategy) game that pits you against... you know, I don't know, this guy. Anyway. You combine creatures via genetic experiments and lots of poking with sciencey tools (there's an amazing British woman who actually yells "For Science!") until you get genetic mutations.
It is awesome.
Like, super awesome. If super was one animal and awesome was another then Impossible Creatures would create super awesome! Or sawesome. Or aweper. ... I don't know.

"Impossible Creatures is a real-time strategy game released on December 29, 2002 developed by Relic Entertainment in conjunction with Microsoft Studios. Its unique feature is that the armies used are all created by the player. The armies consist of 9 creatures; each one is a combination of any two animals from a list of 76 (51 with no downloads). Many animals possess inherent abilities to add more strategic depth to the game. There is an extensive single-player campaign as well as online multiplayer functionality with different game modes, add-ons, custom maps, mods, and scenarios."
