WarriorDan discusses several of the most common forms of in-game microtransactions, like loot boxes, DLC expansions, XP boosters, season passes, pay to win items, etc., and their impact on gaming in 2021. Over the course of this video, several games are used as examples, including Dauntless, Team Fortress 2, Warframe, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Fault, Destiny 2 Beyond Light, etc.

There has been much discussion on when it is and not appropriate to have microtransactions in a game, and what form they should take. I've read and responded to a lot of different points of view here on my channel. These are just my personal opinions, take them as you will, but this video is intended to help clarify my point of view in both past videos and future ones.
