6The adventures of Oogore and family! Oogore is a horned multi-armed regenerating warrior of death. By death I mean he is really efficient in dying, fast. However, the description of the character is not exaggerated, you can make MANY different types of characters with even more different play styles. Caves of Qud is very reminiscent of old D&D style games, with a focus on stats, damage and items. You will find loot, weapons, armor, and many items to improve your character. That is if you can get past the ridiculous difficulty of this game. Qud is far from newbie friendly and is definitely a game that requires many hours of investment. This will put off some players, but the game does have plenty of complexity if you do make the investment. The graphics are completely ASCII along the lines of Quarries of Scred or Sanctuary RPG. There is a huge open world to explore that is procedurally generated, giving the game plenty of replay. Now there is some hiccups along the road as an example there is currently no music and sound. The games difficulty and lack of tutorials doesn't exactly make it welcoming to new players. There is some graphical issues as well but these are all to be expected for an Early Access title. In all, if you are looking for an older style RPG Roguelike, with an in depth character creator and ever changing environment and brutal difficulty. Check out Caves of Qud.
