After reading about how super cardioid small condenser mics are best for indoor dialogue in untreated rooms, I picked up a Sennheiser E614 to compare to my Rode NT-1 / VideoMic Pro+.
You may notice that the E614 audio has more hiss in the background - this seems to be because the E614 is far less sensitive than the NT-1 and so requires a much higher input gain level from the Zoom H4N Pro. Otherwise I think they both sound pretty similar, and I like the Sennheiser's smooth, natural tone. Both are better than the VideoMic Pro+, but the comparison is slightly unfair since the VideoMic Pro+ is so much further away from my mouth. What do you think?
