1. Hit the white tail of the lizard / gecko so it drops it on the ground, but still remain alive.
2. Do this to as many lizard / geckos you want.
3. Save the game.
4. Exit the game and change the date on your console at least one day forward.
5. Reboot the game and load your save. The lizards should still be alive with their tail.

In this video I got 5 tails from a location that only spawns 3 lizards, and I'm sure I could continue infinitely.

Tip:
Find a place with a lot of lizards spawning at different locations, there are a few such locations, see which fits you best, and do multiple lizards per reload of the game etc.

You will need a LOT of them to max your stamina.
