Everything is applicable for Dualshock 4 as well.
So main setting here to play with is Gamma, which is called linearity in some other games. Low gamma makes controller feel more sensitive at the center and higher gamma makes steering less sensitive near center and more sensitive at the ends.
At higher gamma, I recommend to set deadzone to 0, as high gamma essentialy creates deadzone on its own.
My personal settings are gamma at 1.5 and 0 deadzone, but I chose 1.6 and 0.1 deadzone here to make it less sensitive for beginners.
