📌Injustice 2 continues the story set in motion in Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together, but struggle against those who would restore Superman’s Regime. In the midst of this chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s very existence at risk.
Story Mode consists of 76 different fights and five difficulties from Very Easy to Very Hard. Completing a chapter will grand you an epic-tier Gear for the fighter you use during that chapter as well as a common-tier Shader for that fighter. Completing the entire Story on your first playthrough will reward you with a total of 10 Bronze, 7 Silver, 1 Gold, 1 Platinum, and 1 Diamond Mother Boxes as well as a total of over 55,000 credits, 7 Regeneration tokens, and 3,700 Source Crystals. You will also unlock Brainiac as a playable fighter.

đź“ŚNews of the invasion gets to the Flash, who was once a member of the regime but was pardoned. As part of his pardoning he is to remain away from civilization for the most part and was exiled in the cold north. However, knowing that he is needed the Flash runs to Metropolis to help the civilians. His return is anticipated by Brainiac and Gorilla Grodd, who seem to be working together, as the Society is waiting for the Flash. Deadshot shoots out his leg and Captain Cold meets him upclose to keep him down. The Flash refuses to lose so easily and fights Captain Cold. Victory allows the Flash to keep moving as we transition our scene to Harley Quinn who is still in custody under Catwoman's patrol. Catwoman, however, turns out to be a mole working for Batman. She frees Harley and the two of them head for Gotham as fast as they can.
Back in Metropolis Deadshot has come into close quarters with the Flash to finish the job. He tells the Flash that he has no choice as there is a nano-machine bomb in his head that will be set off if he doesn't obey Gorilla Grodd. The Flash defeats Deadshot in battle and suddenly a yellow Flash reveals himself: Reverse Flash. He is from the Future and traveled back to this time, but because the timeline is messed up he is unable to return. Reverse Flash found out about The Flash returning to action and ran to Metropolis immediately to fight him. The two run across the world fighting eachother until they reach Gotham for a real battle. The Flash fights Reverse Flash and wins leaving Reverse Flash to run off elsewhere for now.
Also aware of the Flash's return is Green Lantern to comes back. He claims that he got a second chance from the Guardians to be a Green Lantern even after all of his sins from the first Injustice game where he was part of the Sinestro Corp. Green Lantern hasn't forgiven the Flash for turning on the Regime it seems and challenges him. Defeating the Green Lantern makes them realize they both have a lot of repenting to do and working together would be a great start towards redeeming themselves and saving the planet from this new threat. Batman isn't a fan of it but decides they'll need help to stop Brainiac. For Green Lantern's first assignment working with Batman he is sent to Atlantis to convince Aquaman to help.
