When Chennai Metro Rail royally strides back and forth from Koyambedu to Alandur two years back, drawing much admiration for looking impeccably clean. But there were widespread talks that, like MRTS and suburban rail, this system too shall turn unkempt and dirty. Much to everyone’s surprise, the trains appear just the way it looked on its first day. Though the number of people taking the Chennai Metro Rail may be far lesser than that of other two rail systems, despite taking in about 24,000 people on a daily basis, it has managed to keep its trains in fine shape.
