Installing Bestop Under Seat Lock Box for 1997 2006 Wrangler TJ
13In this video I install the Bestop Under Seat Lock Box. I got the Bestop 42641-01 Under Seat Lock Box for 1997-2006 Wrangler TJ, right off of Amazon, link below. While installing this lock box, the driver seat needs to come out, so I decided to lube up the sliding rails as well.
So to start this install, I lubed up the sliding rails on the inside of the lock box with DiamondLube. During the winter, the grease that comes in the lock box can get very stiff and cause some problems. I also put the lube in the locking mechanism to get the tumblers as well. Next you need to remove the driver seat. Ok so now on my Jeep, she is a 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport, and the seat actually does not allow the lockbox to fit underneath. Apparently I have the Easy Fold seat compared to the normal seat. I had no idea, oops. So anyway the lockbox comes with a security cable incase you want to put it somewhere else, or in my case, if it doesn't fit with the seat you have. So I decided to use the security cable and place the lockbox behind my seat instead.
A side note, once I had the seat out of the Jeep, I noticed some floor rust. I sprayed the rust with rust converter paint.
