Installing The Hornby HM7000 DCC Decoder Into The Newest Bachmann Class 37 Model Train #dcctutorial
Here is my DCC Fitting Guide video where I fit the Hornby HM7000 DCC BlueTooth Next18 with the Plux16 converter plug DCC Decoder into a Bachmann Class 37 Diesel Locomotive using the main default speaker that is pre-fitted into the model after removing the sugar cube speaker and the results are quite satisfying to say the least.
The good points is that you can use this locomotive wirelessly on any live track that is DCC and in some cases DC but if you use a DC controller like me as a power bus. Please make sure it is a newer controller and preferably less than 5 years old as these new controllers smooth out the power better unlike the older ones.
In truth and to be honest here. The Hornby HM7000 is designed to work best with the Hornby locomotives due to the way the lights are wired for maximum benefit but they can also work with other brands of locomotives with limitations. On this occasion, only the head and tail lights cab be controlled. The cab lights, engine room lights and the high intensity lights are not accessible.
Ideally, Hornby should consider making a Plux22 HM7000 DCC decoder that would make these extra functions more accessible. Just my thoughts on the matter.
