As requested by a fellow Youtuber, I have tried the creation of many small files to test the characteristics of my Intel 750 series PCIe NVMe x4 SSD VS a traditional SATA III Sandisk Extreme Pro 960 GB SSD.

The test utilized Windows Command Prompt and Cubic Design File Tools File Creation utility to make 10,000 files each 1,024 bytes (1 Kilobyte) in size. I attempted fresh creation of a file on each drive, then simply copy and pasted to create the amount of files through Windows, whereas the File Creation utility could batch process the creation of the files.

Results were quite interesting to say the least.

--SATA SSDs with their generally better smaller file size handling proved to lead the way in Windows' creation, but I saw no difference using the batch creation tool on either drive.

--The Intel PCIe based SSD wasn't quite as fast in the creation of the tiny files since it struggles slightly more with the smallest file types - however it shines far beyond SATA speeds with larger files.

--Once the files were on the drives themselves, simply copying and duplicating the directory performed better as expected on the Intel PCIe SSD.

Thanks for watching! For more gaming and testing with the Intel 750 PCIe SSD, please look forward to more videos in the future. Purchase the Intel SSD via Amazon at: https://amzn.to/2YAXm6G
