In this video, we'll be talking about the Intel ATX12VO spec and ATX12V spec (which Intel also wrote). These changes are mostly coming into effect to assist manufacturers in abiding by CEC (California Energy Commission) requirements for PSU efficiency, but they've also been under scrutiny by the PC enthusiast and DIY community due to concerns of driving a wedge into existing compatibility. Fortunately, these changes primarily affect the DIY/system integrator (SI) markets, and they're sort of already in effect for some major OEMs. In this video, we'll break-down ATX12VO and Intel's spec, along with some discussion of what manufacturers think. We spoke with a PSU manufacturer, a PSU factory that actually makes power supplies, and with Jon Gerow of Corsair (formerly JonnyGuru) to get some thoughts.
