FORZA PLAYERS.. Being away from AS2 competitive for a while made me realize it's really different watching AS2 outside of playing in the competitive scene. I feel people don't really understand or care about how much skill is involved. In my opinion Competitive AS2 is under appreciated. So I’ll be back to cast this tournament. Unfortunately the top tier player base has been very small. In fact I think it is probably the smallest it has ever been. Pretty much none of the people in the current top 10 was in the competitive community approx a year ago... It has never been able to continue to grow due to many things. Such as hard to learn, community, game features and bugs. But In my opinion it's the retention that's #$#%, mainly it is because of the stability of the game. Never ever ran well.. And now it’s impossible to even play team games with friends due to out of syncs. ah well..
Never the less I still find this the best game to watch and play competitively. The skill ceiling is quite high and it does take a very long time to get decent. I do really appreciate watching the top players skill and how the pull of certain strategies. AS2 is one of those games where it is not always about numbers, as there is always the chance factor and the ability for a single infantry to take out the most expensive unit. This is damn exciting and why I like to watch it.
Anyway this may be the last tournament due to the issues. Good luck all the players involved.. Let’s take a look at them a bit more in a full player profile !! May be a bit over the top.. took me a long long time.. but they deserve the attention. I would love to visit all your cities one day.. no bad ones !.. actually maybe not Russia.
Hopefully it might make it more entertaining to root for a player you know about! Hopefully I can continue to give justice to the level of skill displayed of the competitive community.
