Interrupt Update: The Story of Interrupt – Final Design Just Weeks Away!
Interrupt’s Story and a Quick Update
Today I’m sharing a recap of the Interrupt project and the latest update from their team.
The story started back in September 2023, when the first prototype was created after a hacking conference. It wasn’t perfect, with power and NFC issues, but it was a solid beginning.
By summer 2024, the team presented the prototype to an investor and made a key change — switching from the ESP32 to a Raspberry Pi for more flexibility. After parting ways with an engineering firm that raised costs, they pressed forward, building a campaign prototype.
The Kickstarter launch raised over $500,000, proving there was strong support to bring Interrupt to life. Since then, the team has refined the design and is now close to final production.
🔧 Current Update
• Enclosure: Minor cosmetic adjustments, updated 3D model coming soon.
• Electronics: RF schematics almost done, layout in progress, Raspberry Pi integration nearly finished, GPIO next.
• Firmware: Active development continues, with UI wireframes in progress.
After a short delay due to a key engineer’s health issues, work has resumed. The final PCB and design are just weeks away. More media and models are expected soon.
👉 I’ll keep sharing these updates with the community, so stay tuned.
