In the interview with the Movers & Shakers in the 3D realm, we talk to the engineer behind 'eora 3D', and revolutionary concept in mobile high resolution laser scanning.

Questions:

1. What is your name, where do you reside and what is your profession?

2. How did eora 3D come about and how many employees or team members do you have?

3. I have built and designed a few laser scanners, own the Matter & Form and Rubicon and run a 3D service bureau that uses the Next Engine HD. What makes yours different than some of these other laser based line scanners?

4. Other than looking cool and different, we both know why you chose a green laser, but can you briefly talk about it?

5. If you did not cover it in question 4, one of the strengths over other low cost 3D line scanners is the use of a smartphone camera. Why, and do you support Android, iOS, or both?

6. Okay some of the concerns I have are the use of the smart phone as your detection and mesh compilation platform. Working as a developer myself with iOS, I know processor and RAM have been an issue with really high voxel density limiting the voxel size. Is this problem for you as well, or if not what is the largest size object you can obtain and how long does it take? How about scan speed, I would think this would be inhibited as well on mobile device?

7. Will your app have any mesh editing or manipulation tools. What export formats will it support? Do you have any test output files?

8. Run us through an actual scan process? (You can just show the results with your webcam pointed at the smartphone's screen). From the YouTube video, I only see one side being scanned, I am assuming you have a method in scanning complete objects?

9. With this looking like it is made of aluminium and modern clean features, the Early Bird backing price is only $199, what is the catch. Seem too good to be true? Quality build, quality scans, portable, there must be an achilles heal? What do I give up at this price point?

10. Finally, this is going to launch soon on Kickstarter. What is the date, and the regular price that most backers will be looking at?
