Into the Basin: Rogue Planets
2This is a game. It's extremely simple, in the way that driving a car with an automatic transmission feels really weird when you're used to the clutch, but it is definitely in the spirit of the genre and so it is important that I give it a serious play. Rogue Planets is about dungeon-diving in the most basic way possible, and it is really good at what it does.
As a matter of playing a roguelike in an of itself, I don't recommend it to players that engorge themselves in stuff like NetHack or ADOM. This is, however, a great way to understand what it means to play the archetypical roguelike: it's got food, and monsters, and stairs, and a treasure at the end. What more could you ask for?
