This was a video I made for the very first assignment of my Learning Workshop class in college. We just had to make a post introducing ourselves to our classmates, but we could get bonus points if we made a video.

The video only had to be a recording of us talking to our phones, so obviously I went way overboard. I initially tried doing a normal recording of myself in front of a green screen, with the green screen background just making it look like I was sitting normally in my room. The punchline was gonna be that I would say at the end that I could “to a cool backflip”, and then when I jumped, I would just take a still frame of me jumping and then make it spin really fast in my editing software.

The problem with this was that I recorded the video in 4K 60fps, and that caused WAAAAAY too many problems. It took forever for my phone to properly upload in Google Drive, and even when I got it to my computer, it wouldn’t run properly. I had to scrap the idea because I only had a few hours left.

Due to time constraints, I decided to just go with simple Flipnote drawings over voiceover since I knew it was easy to do. I made this entire thing in about 2-3 hours, and it shows. I wish that I could’ve made it a bit more polished, but hey, it was already more effort than the video had to be in the first place.

My professor really liked it, and even said in my grade notes that she wanted to know how I did it. I think I forgot to tell her. Oops.
