Invisibility Blues: Roughcut Teaser

Hi, everyone! With just over a week to go in the campaign, we wanted to issue a public update with a little special content for you: a teaser video illustrating what kind of work we might do as part of the series. Please note, however, that this is not reflective of the quality we hope to bring you with a funded series. With support, we can improve both sound and audio quality for smooth, seamless production.
In fact, that’s something we’d like to talk about for a moment before we share the video with you. We’ve been making videos for Not Your Mama’s Gamer for some time, and we enjoy the enhancement video brings when talking about games. Text can sometimes only take us so far. What we don’t want is poor quality video distracting from content. The money from this campaign will help us improve the quality of equipment we have at hand for production… and yes, note the use of “help.” NYMG has always been a self-funded, volunteer enterprise (we only recently took to Patreon for some help with costs), and even with this campaign, we are not seeking enough money to pay for everything we need, but instead just enough to help mitigate the costs of updating equipment and to assist with providing honoraria for consultants. When we say we want to widen the conversation around games, we mean for you to throw in with us. It’s not a matter of supporters paying us to do the work. It’s everyone joining their voices to the chorus so we can do the work -- and make a change -- together.
Will you join us?
And now that we’ve made our pitch, we’re happy to present our series teaser. While some of this information may make it into the first video in the series, footage will be re-recorded and re-cut; the final product will be a wholly different creation, though the analysis in this teaser is representative of our work as a whole.
We’re also happy to reveal that every announced theme may result in more than one video; already we anticipate the character generation video may be split into parts one and two. This means more videos for you if we get funded… and every video will come with text analysis, supporting information and images, and transcripts as well. Let’s make it happen.
