“focus pixels”, also known to camera nerds as on sensor phase detection, the iPhone 6’s camera uses on-sensor pixels dedicated solely to determining focus distance,killing the focus hunting, the ugly “wobble” you see when a lens has to hunt back and fourth to lock in focus. According to Apple, the iPhone 6 models can focus twice as fast as their predecessors.
