Apple announced plenty of new features in iPhone OS 3.0. My previous video was a wishlist and apple actually delivered on most of my hopes. Highlighting todays announcements are copy and paste, MMS, turn by turn directions, push notifications (finally), live streaming, tethering support, and spotlight for iPhone. I was disappointed however that there will be no background application support but we may get this feature with later versions of the iPhone. This update will hit this summer. The upgrade is free for iPhone, both original and 3G, but will cost $9.95 for iPod Touch users. There is not word on new hardware but I expect updated hardware to come with this new OS later in the year.
