Ironman Motocross Recap: KTM Wins Both Classes! Chase Sexton the 450 Champ!
The 2024 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship concluded on Saturday with the Ironman Motocross finale in Crawfordsville, IN.
It was a day to remember for KTM! Tom Vialle won his first 250cc race of 2024 MX with a 1-4, and Chase Sexton swept the 450cc motos and locked up the 450cc Motocross title.
Vialle led from gate to flag in moto 1, but he had to work hard to win the overall in moto 2. '24 250 champ Haiden Deegan on the Star Racing Yamaha battled with Vialle for the lead and took it away along with the second moto win.
Vialle was able to save the overall with a 4th in moto 2 after Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Levi Kitchen exited moto 2 due to a twisted knee, and Star Yamaha's Jordon Smith was nowhere to be found in 8th place.
The 250cc class also had Ken Roczen on a Bar-X Suzuki RMZ-250 for the first time since 2013. He went 9-12 for 9th overall.
The 450cc class saw Chase Sexton sweep the motos, but moto 2 provided a bit of a scare. While leading moto 2, Sexton stalled his KTM, but he got going just in time to keep the lead. His teammate Aaron Plessinger #7 was all over him, but Sexton would have none of it and motored away to the 1-1 sweep.
With the 2024 Motocross season behind us, we look to the SuperMotocross Playoffs beginning at Charlotte's Z-Maxx Dragway in two weeks time!
