Is FFXIV the BIGGEST Subscription base MMO NOW? [Let's Discuss] [Is WOW is Dying?]
683Did FFXIV just become the biggest subscription-based MMO? Hot on the heels of the news that Activision-Blizzard is going to be doing layoffs it seems there is talk that the revenue from WOW is way down and speculation is that while we don't know official numbers that FFXIV is now the largest Subscription based game... With the momentum going into Shadowbringers in the last state of the game I asked the question if FF14 Shadowbringers could take the crown and become the biggest sub based MMO, dethroning WOW after 15 years, and it sounds like with the disappointing launch of BFA in 2018 and many players asking is WOW dying or leaving the game and coming over to FFXIV who is welcoming WOW Refugees daily, we might be on a moment in history that was long fought for, well earned etc. Anyway, let's discuss the news, the thoughts, and ask the question... does it even matter?

Activision's plan to cut hundreds of jobs and the CFO getting millions in bonuses. This is interesting news coming off of a hot month of anti anthem ideas driven by distaste for EA and then Apex Legends changing the conversation around loot boxes.
