Is it silly to take the message from a fortune cookie to heart?

Well The Answer Is No...

Fortune cookies have been around for more than 100 years. They're a fun way to eat dessert, but have you ever wondered where they came from? Or why they have such an interesting shape? Well, I'm here to tell you all about fortune cookies! And if you like reading about food then you should check out my article on the history of corn dogs and potato chips

The fortune cookie is a laid back kind of cookie. If you were to ask it what kind of cookie it is, it would probably say something like, "I'm not like those busybody crinkle cookies or those uptight ginger snap cookies. I'm just here to chill out."

It can be hard to believe that the fortune cookie is a dessert and not a cracker (like you might expect), but when you think about it, they're really more like cakes or even brownies than they are biscuits or cookies. Fortune cookies contain many ingredients including flour, sugar and egg whites—all things that contribute to the crumbly texture common in cakes and brownies but not usually found in crackers (which are typically savory). When we take into account these qualities as well as the fact that both cakes and brownies tend toward sweet flavors (and often include fruit) while cookies tend toward salty flavors (and often include peanut butter or chocolate chips), then we see how easy this conclusion becomes!

If you've never had one before, be prepared for something exotic. If you have had them before but only in restaurants where the fortune was printed on the outside of the cookie and not homemade at home (or purchased from a box) then prepare yourself for an unexpected treat! Fortune cookies are a bit more exotic than other types of cookies because they have an Asian flare to them and don't taste as sweet or rich as other types of cookies do.

Fortune cookies are unique from other cookies because they're the only ones that come wrapped in paper and have a message inside.

It is said that fortune cookies were invented by David Jung, a Los Angeles businessman who owned a chain of restaurants called "The Hong Kong Noodle Company." According to legend, he was inspired during one of his frequent trips to China when he saw the Chinese custom of wrapping messages in small pieces of paper and putting them inside foods such as dumplings. Jung decided to bring this tradition back home to America by placing fortunes inside fortune cookies while they were being made at his restaurant.

In order for your fortune cookie to be considered authentic, it must be folded over before baking so that there are no breaks in the paper or cracks around where it folds together. This is known as "folding" or "crimping" (depending on what part you are referring to).

According to the Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles, people have been eating fortune cookies since the late 1800s. The origin of these crunchy treats is a bit of a mystery, but it's said that a Japanese baker named Makoto Hagiwara invented them sometime around 1900. It wasn't until 1916 that fortune cookies were introduced to America—and they've been popular ever since!

The first mention of fortune cookies in print was in 1958, when the journalist and historian Betty Lee Sung wrote that "the fortune cookie became popular during World War II." She also noted that fortune cookies appeared to have originated in San Francisco, California.

The first journalistic account of the fortune cookie's history is told by Jennifer 8. Lee in her book The Fortune Cookie Chronicles (2008). In it, she tells how she traced the origins of the fortune cookie to a man named David Jung who owned a restaurant called David's Noodle House in Los Angeles, California.

Next time you eat a fortune cookie, read your message carefully and let it inspire your day.

Now that you've got your fortune cookie, it's time to take a look at what it says and see if there's anything in there that can inspire your day. If nothing else, maybe the message will help start a conversation with someone close to you—a great way to start any day!

But if you want inspiration beyond just starting up a conversation, turn inward for self-reflection. Think about what has happened in the past year and consider how far you've come as an individual. This exercise can also be used as a tool for sending messages of love or encouragement to friends or family members who may need it most right now.

So, next time you're enjoying a cookie and you want to read your fortune, remember that the fortune cookie is not just for kids. It's for everyone!
