Today I learned that there is negligible difference between the damage done with a full 340 Skill points compared with No skill points. read Below for the full breakdown.

Everyone gets to celebrate the 12th anniversary with one FREE Character Advance to CR333! With your starter items, you will also receive a gear suit with the updated Fate's Faith style.

This has made me question is it worth it? I was told when I began to play DCUO that I should NOT skip and that I should play through the story at least once so I can learn the game and get all the available extra skill points from the side missions you get as you are doing the main story and exploring around.

I still stand by this advice for NEW players who have never played through the game either Hero or Villains on any of the Mentors.

Superman, Lex Luther = Meta
Wonder Woman, Circe = Magic
Batman, Joker = Tech

After you reach level 30 The final storyline mission is unique for each Mentor:

Meta: The Daily Planet / Hall of Doom
Magic: Oblivion Bar / CAO Dam
Tech: Morrow Hideout/ Gotham Star Labs / Batcave

Check your journal for any Watchtower missions as some will unlock other missions.

Skill Points 0 to 340 damage output increased only 10%
Skill points 0 DMG = Aprx 58,000,000
Skill Points 100 DMG = Aprx 60,000,000
Skill Points 200 DMG = Aprx 61,000,000
Skill Points 340 DMG = Aprx 63,000,000

These are generalized and rounded off to show the main point is to not worry about those extra 240 skill points you may miss out on by CR skipping. You can go back and get those through the side quests you left behind, and do so much easier now that your CR is 333.
