A new line of very expensive consoles are coming down the pike....and I we frankly think that they're too expensive to be able to compete against Nintendo's popular handheld. Years ago, we never would have talked like this....it would be obvious that newer technology would grab more consumer interest. But does newer technology really mean that much in 2020?


The Nintendo Switch is essentially a middle of the road tablet computer, when you break the system down to it's tech specs. That means, in theory, it's technology that is fairly easily replicate-able by a wide variety of companies. Could Sega take this opportunity to re-enter the console market with something analogous to the Switch?


One can only DREAM. But, really, the opportunity is there. Sega has the license to a wide variety of potentially successful IPs. The one thing that would stop someone from entering the console market is the one thing Sega actually has going for it......lots of exclusive IPs and content.

Still. This is probably too bold for Sega, but what if the Sega Genesis Mini was a test run of sorts? Who can say? Let's just say I have my fingers crossed, because Sega has always had my favorite games.
