Is Snapchat down? the popular messaging app puts out a statement regarding operation issues

Snapchat Down, the popular multimedia messaging app, is experiencing issues with sending and receiving messages, according to Downdetector.

The site says that most users are having issues sending messages, but that problems with receiving them have also been reported as of 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Some media accounts also indicate that even logging in has proven to be problematic for some.

A note posted to Snapchat’s support Twitter account said:

“We’re aware many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app. Hang tight - we’re looking into it”

Almost 100,000 complaints have been logged by Downdetector, and some of Snapchat’s 200-plus million users also experienced problems late on the night of April 7 and into the early hours of April 8. The outages are impacting both the U.S. and Europe, per Yahoo.
