As a replacement for 2011's HD 7970 the R9 280X may have been a tempting proposition to anyone with $299 to spend on a graphics card in late 2013. These days it sells for around $60/£60, and because AMD cards tend to age better than a certain competitors offering, I wanted to see if this once mid range option could still handle itself.
