Overclocking was and is very common - just to get the maximum performance from CPUs and GPUs. In most cases, efficiency is disregarded and the solution to the extra heat generated is to turn up the fans.
In this video, we perform another type of overclocking - efficiency overclocking. By lowering the voltage to the minimum before my Voodoo 3 2000 PCI behaves abnormally, we not only save energy, we also reduce the overall heat generated by the 3dfx chip.
